Workshop and Symposia

Musica Per La Vita! Music for Life!  I crafted, developed, advertised, and facilitated this Music Education symposium which was the highlight of a week-long visit of leadership from the Italian organization Associazione Nazionale Bande Italiane Musicali Autonome (ANBIMA) Piemonte. This symposium (Oct. 7, 2015) focused on the development of instrumental music education and continued music performance into adulthood. It featured the partnership between Music Education at Temple University and Associazione Nazionale Bande Italiane Musicali Autonome (ANBIMA) Piemonte (Italy) and highlighted issues and concerns in school music instruction and lifelong learning. The symposium (in addition to the other activities proffered to our guests from Italy) were developed, organized, and coordinated by Dr. Confredo. The event culminated with a performance of three area community bands in the Temple Performing Arts Center.

Philadelphia All-City High School Band Day at Temple University (01/27/17, 01/19/18, 01/18/19). Having been appointed conductor of the Philadelphia All-City High School Band in fall of 2016, I work in partnership with the instrumental music educators of the School District of Philadelphia. Since being appointed, I have coordinated and presented this event for over 100 school musicians who enjoyed a day on Temple’s campus. We work together in rehearsal at TPAC and the high school musicians have an opportunity to listen to Temple students perform. They are also presented information regarding attending Temple and college life in general.
